Knowing your Market

In today’s economic climate, it is very important to know your customers and prospects.  You might have listened to them prior to the economy going south, but have you talked with them recently?  I mean really visited and found out what their needs are today?  If you haven;t you really do not know what business opportunities they offer and the problems you might be able to solve.

I ran across this blog post that points out that you need to get back out there and listen to your market.

Sure there might not be as much money in the game right now and it takes greater effort to get what you can, but there is still money out there. Don’t stop marketing, start "smart marketing" by listening and engaging the market in conversations.  Leverage the "free" social media that is available to tie in to your overall marketing strategies.  You still need a plan and traditional as well as the new media into your marketing plan.

Better start today, your competition may already be ahead of you doing just this.
