I know, I like to refer to myself as the “Marketing Engineer” and when you think of an engineer, you think there are purely scientific ways to solve a problem.
Not so in marketing. Why? Glad you asked.
Marketing problems and the solutions used to solve those problems cannot always be developed in a scientific predictable manner. This is because you are dealing with people and their behaviors. We can use tactics that have proven to work in the past, but that is no guarantee of future success. While behaviors maybe known, the moment in time you are sending out your messages the behaviors of the market might have shifted and your message will not resonate in the expected way even if it worked in the past.
Each marketing problem you may face needs to be addressed singularly and at the moment in time you are facing it. Sure some marketing basics can be applied, but in the end all your marketing messages and how it is delivered needs to be customized to your goals, audience, timeline, and budget.
